Vitals - Type: Annual
ATTRIBUTES Cultivar Notes - Garlic A medium sized softneck type that has a very strong flavor and exceptional clove productivity on rose-streaked bulbs. One of the best varieties for braiding and an all around attractive garlic. This variety is widely adapted and produces consistently in any climate. Harvest fall planted garlic the following season, late spring or early summer, about 240 days from planting. Harvest spring planted garlic the same season, about 90 days from planting. Averages 18 cloves per bulb. Genus Notes - Allium Alliums are charming plants for the rock or herb garden. When the foliage is bruised, it smells like onions since they are in the onion family. Butterflies and honeybees adore the flowers’ sweet nectar but deer and rabbits steer clear of this perennial beauty. Prefers good loamy well-drained soil. Very drought tolerant. |
